Review: White Glo Extra Strength Whitening Toothpaste.

I am not one of those people who was blessed with natural pearly whites. I have never been a smoker but my love for curries, mochas and coke probably haven't helped. I am fairly self concious when it comes to my teeth, so I am always looking for ways to make them a little whiter so that I can grin with pride.

Some of you may have seen or tried this toothpaste already, as I believe a sample was included in one of the beauty boxes recently, but I was kindly sent the full size product to put to the test. I have always been sceptical when it comes to whitening toothpastes- If a simple toothpaste claims to give you a dazzling white smile, then why do people spend hundreds of pounds on professional whitening treatments?

White Glo Extra Strength Whitening Toothpaste*

Here are the claims White Glo makes:
  • Originally Formulated for Film Actors & Models
  •  Fluoride Protection Against Cavities
  •  Low Abrasion- Safe for Daily Use
  •  Effective Whitening Formula
 The box contained three things:

The Toothpaste
"This premium fluoride enriched toothpaste offers maximum oral care hygiene. Its special Extra Strength formulation lightens discolouration and yellowing on tooth enamel which is often caused by food and drinks with strong colouring".

White Glo Anti-Stain Toothbrush
"White Glo's unique brush is "extra-condensed" with high quality US Du-Clean bristles to polish teeth surfaces effectively without abrasion".

White Glo Dental Flosser Toothpicks
"Use White Glo Dental Flosser Toothpicks to clear food particles and plaque from hard to reach spaces between teeth after every meal".

So what do I think of the product?

I have been using the toothpaste and toothbrush in conjunction with each other twice a day for the past two weeks, and I am happy to say I have definitely noticed a difference. I would say my teeth are one or two shades whiter- Nothing ground-breaking, but this is just a whitening toothpaste and for the price you pay for it, you can't expect too much. I did try to take before and after photos but the lighting is so different in them that I don't think they would give an accurate representation of the results- sorry!

Although I can't say that I used the dental flosser toothpicks myself, I think they are a nice addition for those of you who do floss- I'm naughty and lazy and have never really got in to the habit of flossing, plus these little things look like torture devices for the mouth to me, haha.

Overall, I am quite impressed with this toothpaste, even though it doesn't give results that you need to start wearing shades to look at, it can keep our gnashers looking somewhat pearly until we win the lottery and can afford those professional treatments and veneers.

You can purchase White Glo Extra Strength Whitening Toothpaste* from Boots for £4.07, which may seem a little hefty for a toothpaste, but it isn't so bad considering you get 100ml of product, a toothbrush and a packet of toothpicks.

Have you tried this toothpaste? How do you keep your teeth looking pearly white?

*DISCLAIMER: This is a PR sample. This has not affected my opinion and all thoughts are still honest and my own.

  1. Just came across your blog, now following :)
If the toothpaste made your teeth 2 shades whiter I'd say that's a pretty decent result if it only cost £5, nice review x
