Outfit: After Plaid Shirt Days and Nights When You Made Me Your Own.

Shirt: C/O BANK* | Pinafore: C/O Bank* | Shoes: eBay | Socks: Primark | Hat: H&M | Watch: New Look | Collar Tips: Republic

So the weather is starting to get a lot cooler now and it's time to rekindle my love for Autumn/Winter pieces; chunky knit jumpers, knee high boots and elbow patches are a just a few of my favourite things. My latest love affair, however, is with the tartan print which seems to have taken to the stores by storm over the past couple of months, and I am on the hunt for the perfect pair of 80's punk rocker-style skinny trousers and a cosy tartan scarf to wear when it gets even chillier. For now, however, I'm playing it safe in this more classic plaid shirt from BANK. I am also a little late to the pinafore trend, but after spending the whole summer trying to search for one to suit my fussy tastes, BANK came to my rescue with this cute little denim number (which, might I add, is now a steal at just £15!)

Are you loving the tartan trend this A/W?

Event: Forever 21, Liverpool: The Grand Opening!

So, last week finally brought along the opening of the new Forever 21 store in Liverpool. I mentioned in my previous post how I had been waiting for this since it was announced last year, and I could hardly contain my excitement as I trotted along to the press preview on Thursday evening and saw the building all complete with lights on, stylishly dressed mannequins in the windows and a giant "Forever 21" sign making the new three story store quite difficult to miss.
Only the ground floor was open to look at during the press preview, but this was definitely enough to give us a taste of what Forever 21 has to offer. We were given a tour around the shop and were told about the mannequins that represented the F21 "girl"; a fashionista in her early 20s who is fresh out of university and isn't afraid to dress for however she is feeling. Around the store we could see her dressed in floral kimonos and khaki jackets for that festival feel and also showing some attitude in black and gold checkered leggings and monochrome bomber jackets inspired by the likes of Rihanna and Rita Ora. For the more chilled out days, she was still looking trendy in basics which are reminiscent of American Apparel but without that hefty American Apparel price tag- £2 vest tops, £11.50 skater dresses and £10.50 bodysuits? Move over, Primark!

The staff were super friendly and were on hand to show us where to find certain pieces, asking us if we had ever experienced Forever 21 before and we were even offered multiple glasses of Prosecco, yummy canapes and chocolate cupcakes which were fittingly completed with Forever 21 icing. I also had the chance to roam around the shop floor and make a cheeky purchase prior to the official opening- Haul post to follow soon!
--------------------------------------------------
On Saturday morning I headed back down to Forever 21 donning some of my new purchases to find the store absolutely packed with shoppers despite only being open for around an hour! The queues to the till area were at least 50 people long but everybody seemed to be waiting patiently to make their first F21 purchases and were kept entertained by a stellar performance by the gorgeous A*M*E, and the DJ who got the music spot on all day! I found myself dancing away as I co-hosted the Layer Laydown competition alongside the lovely Jade and Tara from The Style Rawr and helped customers style together outfits for the chance to win £1,000 to spend in-store! Check out the #Forever21Liverpool and #F21LayerLaydown hashtags on Instagram and Twitter to see some of the fabulous outfits that people put together- they don't say that Liverpool is one of the most on-trend cities for nothing!
The grand opening of Forever 21 Liverpool was a great success and it was reported that there was around 10,000 visits within three hours of the store being opened, making it one of the biggest Forever 21 launches in the UK- I even spoke to a few girls who had been waiting outside the store from as early as 6AM to ensure that they got their free gift card- dedication right there!
There are plenty more things that I spotted and have my eye on in store so I think a few more trips are in order soon- I just can't get enough! Don't forget that if a store hasn't hit your city yet, you can still get your F21 fix online at their website
Have you check out the new Forever 21 store in Liverpool yet? What F21 pieces do you have your eye on?

Outfit: She Was A Raver of Eastern Flavour.

Kimono: C/O In Love With Fashion* | Dress: C/O Chicnova* | Boots: Glamorous | Hat: H&M | Belt: Primark | Sunglasses: C/O Chicnova* | Necklace: C/O Papa East* | Bracelet: C/O Fashion Union* | Watch: Michael Kors | Cross Ring: C/O The Accessory Stand* | Black Stone Ring: Republic

Upon receiving parcels in September containing these bright yellow and floral numbers and a new pair of sunglasses, it was apparent that I wasn't letting go of Summer just yet. Conveniently, the weather had the same idea and the sunny spell we had last week found me rocking this outfit for a shopping trip to Cheshire Oaks. This said, I can see myself wearing this kimono quite a lot through the Autumn/Winter transition, I think that the blue and dark brown combination is one that is quite versatile and can be styled for all the seasons, and the satin material is perfect for throwing on over a party outfit when it is a little chilly.

It's finally here! Forever 21, Liverpool!

"As one of the most on-trend cities in the UK, we see great potential for further expansion in this region, and we look forward to bringing a vast selection of fashion-forward and quality merchandise at a great value to the people of Liverpool." - Linda Chang, Forever 21 General Merchandise Manager.

Three years ago on a trip to New York City I absolutely fell in love with the cool and trendy (but affordable) fashion store, Forever 21. Since then I have been watching closely as the company slowly made it's way across the pond, opening stores up and down the UK. I remember last March when they first started building the huge 46,000 square foot building in the heart of Liverpool city centre on Church Street, and the whole hustle and bustle started that Forever 21 was finally coming to town. Over a year later I am excited to announce that it is finally here, and the ninth UK store is scheduled to open its doors this Saturday, on October 5, 2013!

The grand opening of Forever 21 Liverpool will take place at 10AM on Saturday. The first 200 people in line on the day will receive a gift card that could be valued anywhere from £10 to £210, so I suggest you get there bright and early! It is going to be a fabulous day full of shopping and competitions, and British singer/songwriter A*M*E is going to be treating us to an exclusive performance to add to the festivities!

I am also so, so excited to announce that I have been asked to work alongside Forever 21 for the duration of the opening, and not only will I be there covering the excitement from all of my social media platforms on the big day, but I will also be bringing you exclusive updates and sneak peeks from the press preview which takes place tomorrow. Don't forget to follow me on Twitter (@FCassandraBlog) and Instagram (@FrancesCassandra) to get a cheeky first glance of the new store prior to the opening!

On Saturday I am also going to be hosting a Laydown Challenge with the lovely ladies over at The Style Rawr, where customers will have the chance to put together and snap some stylish outfits for a chance to win gift vouchers to spend in store, so if you are free on Saturday please come along, say hello and take part! Also join in on the online hype by using the hashtags #Forever21Liverpool and #LayerLaydown on Twitter and Instagram; we would love to know what you think of the new store and see what your favourite Forever 21 pieces are. Below I have put together a cute Autumn/Winter outfit consisting of some of my favourite pieces from the Forever 21 website. The best part? The whole thing costs under £85! :)

I hope to see you Saturday!

Have you visited a Forever 21 store? Or will I see you at the Liverpool store on Saturday?

Behind-The-Scenes @ Fashion Union Lookbook Shoot.

When the lovely Emily from etailPR got in touch with me asking if I would like to tag along to Liverpool with Fashion Union on Monday to have a nosy behind the scenes during their new Lookbook shoot, I didn't hesitate to say yes. Despite the fact that my outfit posts require me to throw myself in front of the camera a lot of the time, being a media graduate means I am naturally intrigued about learning more about what goes on behind the camera too.

With the shoot being based around a mixture of A/W glam and grunge with a patriotic theme, the Camp & Furnace warehouse location in Liverpool was the perfect location. A huge exhibition/events warehouse slash bar/cafe with multiple areas including a stage with amplifiers, a country farm-esque hall complete with cute vintage caravans and a dungeon with old, rusty chains, meant the possibilities were endless for capturing the essence of the collections.

I was greeted by the loveliest girls, Laura and Daisy from Fashion Union and introduced to the whole team who were already well on their way to getting everything set up; steaming the garments and unloading the boxes of props. Considering there was a lot of prepping to do for a six-hour long shoot, everybody was super lovely and chatty, and after being pointed towards the tea and and coffee dispensers I felt right at home.

Of course, I was given the chance to roam through the rails of clothes between outfit changes, and I ended up falling for this faux fur coat and these Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane look-a-likes (which are a fraction of the price at £35, might I add). Part of me also wishes I could pull off those mega chunky platform boots in the seventh photograph above (coming to Fashion Union soon!) but I don't think I could wear them quite as well as the gorgeous model, Ieva, did- after a day of watching her effortlessly pose for some stunning photographs, I came to the devastating realisation that awkwardly posing in the middle of the street for my blog photos is as far as I am ever going to get to a modelling career.

Everybody worked so well together, from the stylist and hair and makeup artist who made sure each look was put together to perfection, to the photographer and assistant who worked their magic at capturing the most beautiful photos of Ieva, who to be fair, probably couldn't take a bad photograph if she tried, even when she had to squeeze her feet in to a pair of heels that were a size or two too small for her- Ouch! The day ran a lot more smoothly than I thought it would, as well. I had imagined everybody running around like headless chickens trying to get everything in order and bits of equipment getting lost, but it ended up being so chilled out and a great laugh.

A huge thank you goes to Fashion Union for having me and for making it such a fun and interesting day- I can't wait to see the finished Lookbook! Fashion Union are also getting some lovely pieces in stock ready for A/W13, so if you would like to check out what they have in store, you can visit their website here.

Do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind the scenes?
