FOTD: Classic Smokey Eye.

Most of my FOTD posts up to now have had more natural eye make-up and often a statement lip colour. For the next few FOTDs I thought I would switch it about a little and give you some dramatic eye looks. To start, I thought I would just keep it simple with a classic, sultry smokey eye. I hope you like it :)

Make-up I used

Face
-Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, Shade 54
- Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer, Light
-Rimmel London Powder Blush, Smoked Oyster

Eyes
Urban Decay Alice in Wonderland Book of Shadows (This contains renamed eyeshadows from the permanent range, so I have included both the original names and the names in this palette).
-Lid: Mushroom mixed with Drink Me, Eat Me/ Sin
-Crease/ lower lashline: Mushroom
-Outer corner: Jabberwocky/ Oil Slick
Inner corner: White Rabbit/ Polyester Bride

-Upper Lashline: Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner, Black

I hope you liked this post! If you have any suggestions for more dramatic eye looks you would like me to try, please let me know! :)

FOTD: 50's Pin Up Girl.

I've always loved the 40's/50's Pin Up girl style make-up so I really enjoyed putting together the look for this post. I always think the celebrities who wear this style of make-up look stunning, like Dita Von Teese, Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera, as it is such a classic look and they always look flawless. The key to this look is the defined, arched eye brows, the cat eye winged liner and of course the cherry red lipstick. I think pale, matte eyeshadows are the way to go for this look, and a true baby doll pink on the apples of the cheeks. I hope you like my variation of the classic 50's Pin Up look :)

FOTD: Valentine's Day Makeup.

I haven't done a make-up look or FOTD post for a while so I thought it would be the perfect time to do one now with Valentine's Day just around the corner. If you're going out on a date on Valentine's Day, you want to make sure you look like you have made an effort for him, but also look natural at the same time.
For this look, I used a shimmery champagne eyeshadow on the eyelids, and then counterbalanced it with a matte brown shade in the crease. I used a white eyeliner on my water line and a shimmery white eyeshadow in my inner corner to make my eyes look bigger and brighter and I curled my eyelashes before I applied mascara.
On my lips I used my "my lips but better" lipstick; my advice would be to keep your lips a subtle nude/ pink shade, no boy would like to end up with bright pink or red lips!
Finally, I used my straighteners to curl my hair in to loose, natural looking ringlets :)

Makeup I used:

Face
-Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector, Light
-Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer, Light
-Sleek Contour Palette, Medium
-Rimmel London Powder Blush, Smoked Oyster

Lips
-Original Chapstick
-MUA Lipstick, Shade 11

Eyes
-Lid: Champagne colour, third from left, bottom row MUA Heaven and Earth Palette.
-Crease: Hitch, Sigma Bare Palette
Highlight and Inner Corner- Top left MUA Heaven and Earth Palette
-Water line: MUA Intense Colour Eyeliner, Snow White
-Mascara: 17 Falsifeye False Lash Effect Mascara
Eyebrows: HD Brows Palette, Bombshell

If you have any questions, feel free to ask :)
I hope you all have a lovely Valentine's Day, are you doing anything special?

FOTD: Effortless.

I'm not the kind of girl who spends hours in the morning getting ready, I much prefer to keep it simple unless it is for a special occasion. This is the sort of makeup I wear on an every day basis; no eye shadow, just winged black eyeliner (sometimes I even skip this step), and a bit of colour on my lips that I switch around depending on how I feel that day, though I have been loving this dark fuschia colour this winter. I would usually just use a bit of concealer on my spots and under my eyes, but on a particularly bad skin day (like today) I like to get out my Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector for that extra little bit of coverage. This makeup routine usually takes me no more than fifteen minutes to do, meaning I can spend longer in bed!  :)

Makeup I used:

Face
-Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream (Light)
-Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (Light)
-Rimmel London Powder Blush (Smoked Oyster)

Eyes
-Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner (Black)
-Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara (Black)

Lips
-MUA Lipstick (Shade 2)

FOTD: Sleek Berry Collection

So the other day, I was a little bit naughty and I purchased the Sleek limited edition Berry Collection for myself whilst I was out shopping for Christmas presents. I love the matte berry colours in the set and thought they would be perfect teamed with gold, shimmery eyes for a Christmas or New Year party :) As usual, it was a battle to get good photographs with the lighting being so gloomy, but I think these were the best ones.
